Packaging Sales Job Summary This individual is responsible for developing solid relationships with our customers, providing them with needed specifications and an understanding of our product lines. Responsible for the outside sales retention of existing customers through normal sales procedures. Adding new customers through referrals, cold calls and through analyzing customers’ needs and quoting prices for products we sell. As a visible member of the externally, this individual must always react with and present a professional demeanor and attitude. Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions) •Making sales calls to existing and prospective customers •Writing, assigning and delivering quotations for customers •Holding new account meetings with appropriate parties internally •Works closely with Customer Service •Delivers samples to customers •Providing Sales Manager with annual sales forecast •Assist in developing a total plan for operations for a stocking program for customers •Follow through when needed for collecting on past due accounts •Resolve customer complaints immediately with any and all complaint forms necessary and communication to the Sales Manager on best solutions •Minimize attrition with existing customers •Add new business from either existing customers or new accounts •Other duties as assigned by manager as needed a) Raw or Finished Materials: corrugated board (all styles and thickness) b) Tools and Machines Used: tape measure, utility knife c) Hazards: automobiles, dust d) Supervisory responsibilities: None 4.0 Job Specification A high school diploma is required, some college training is preferred At least 2 years of experience in outside sales preferably in corrugated or packaging Must have a valid state issued drivers license Must be able to understand and read a tape measure Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Ability to interact with a variety of different people effectively; excellent phone etiquette. Must have a high degree of product knowledge, ability to train other representatives concerning the company processes Computer literate in Word and Excel Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Must follow all company policies and procedures
